Get used to him being out. Seems like every season he gets hurt. |

What veteran presence, give me a break, I don't like all the bashing but this is pretty ridiculous. |

yeah, Vanek is no Ville Leino |
|
|

if the isles are rebuilding with youth why do they constantly bury guys like nelson and nino when they get called up? didn't cappy go with the "veteran lineup" (ie. Marty Reasoner) for game one against the pens last season? How did that work out? |

Because Ville Leino has missed several games since joining the Sabres w.r.t. Vanek being injured. |

This team is desperate for a trade that adds a defenseman or a goalie. Until that happens I am convinced the Isles brass are fine with getting a top 5 pick this year.
Cheering for Ekblad already. |

Miller is still available. It seems that fans of each side cannot agree on the worth of the player though.

It was reported that Miller would veto a trade here aand there was one worked out already. Knowing what i do about Miller and what he'd probably want I think I believe this actually happened. |

He is a UFA at the end of the year... and with all due respect he is not what he once was... Is he in the top 15 in Any category? Was he last year? while YES he would be a big improvement for the Isles.. He would not be that dominant guy who takes you for a cup run... so I ask you .. what is that worth?
Many teams have 2 goalies that are in their prime, signed or RFA, and are better than Miller right now... not trying to be disrepectful of Miller he just isn't a top 10 goalie anymore. (IMO) |

Need to focus on teams like Toronto, Ottawa, Colorodo, etc... that have 2 very good goalies and try to pry one away from them.. (Devils?) |

Hes 2nd in shots against on the worst team in the league with the worst goal differential and has still maintained a fine save percentage of .918...his GAA is poor due to again being on the worst team in the NHL but thats negligible. A team that had decent defensive play would make his overall stats very good.....
But good luck. There is no argument that you can make it into the playoffs at this point without changing it up in net as your team sits only four spots behind the worst team in the league. Hes the only reason we had a gimpse at beating the flyers as an 8th seed last time in the playoffs. Hes clutch in the playoffs and I dont think anyone has to tell you how he does in the Olympics.

This all sounds great but could you do us a favor? Convince Miller to waive his NTC to come to us.

I heard he refused to waive to EDM, I had not heard the NYI rumors. Apparently I am oblivious to some things. |

Maybe or I could've heard BS? Who knows? Who cares? I wouldn't mind having Miller but a few Islander fans nixing a trade for him on hockeybuzz is not going to affect it either way. |
